Santa Rosa schools host STEAM education retreat

Santa Rosa County School District and Discovery Education, the leading provider of digital content for K-12 classrooms, are partnering to host a unique leadership retreat focused on STEAM, an inquiry-based approach to teaching and learning encompassing Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Math.

This event on Tuesday, June 30, will engage educators, administrators, community members and business leaders from across Santa Rosa County to develop a collective vision and strategy for creating a culture of STEAM in their school system.

The retreat will be from 9 a.m. to noon at Berryhill Administrative Center, Conference Room A, 6571 Berryhill St., in Milton

During a series of interactive sessions, attendees will examine data on career opportunities in the region, experience STEAM teaching and learning, participate in hands-on STEAM activities, and begin to create the STEAM definition and vision for their school district.

Santa Rosa County School District has begun its work to create a culture of STEAM in their school system by partnering with Discovery Education on a new initiative called STEM Leader Corps.
